Premises Licence Application Service

From £800 + VAT

This fee includes:

• Free initial consultation

• Development of the application proposal

• Completion of all application forms

• Preparation of public notices for on-site display

• Drafting and placement of the required newspaper notice

• Liaison and negotiation with Responsible Authorities and other parties during the consultation period

Review Hearing Representation

From £600

This fee includes:

• Free initial consultation

• Pre-hearing engagement and negotiations with Responsible Authorities and/or local residents

• Preparation for the review hearing, including case strategy and documentation

• Client briefing on the hearing process and expectations

• Attendance and professional representation at the Premises Licence Review Hearing​

Additional Time & Complexity

Where a review requires work beyond the scope of the standard service — for example due to increased complexity, sensitive locations, multiple parties, or extended consultation — additional fees may apply to reflect the extra time involved.

Any additional costs or fees will always be discussed and agreed in advance, prior to being incurred and at the pre-contract stage.

This fee includes:

Licensing Authority Application Fee

​

Variable (Band A–E)

This is a statutory fee payable to the Licensing Authority and is based on the non-domestic rateable value of the premises.

Typical fees range from:

• £100 to £315,

• rising to £635 for Band E premises.

This fee is paid on the client’s behalf and recharged at cost.

Newspaper Notice

​

Variable (typically £300–£450)

We source the most cost-effective appropriate local newspaper, design the notice, and ensure it is published within the statutory timeframe.

Premises Plans

A suitable plan of the premises must accompany the application.

• Where plans are supplied by the client, we review them for compliance and make minor amendments where required

• Where no suitable plans exist, we can arrange for professionally prepared plans via an architect or draughtsperson

Any additional costs for new plans will be agreed in advance.

TEN Layout Plans

Where a layout plan is required as part of a Temporary Event Notice application, we will, wherever possible, use plans supplied by the client. These are reviewed to ensure they meet licensing requirements, and minor amendments can be made where necessary.

If suitable plans are not available, or where the event area is larger or more complex, we can arrange for professionally prepared plans to be produced by an architect or draughtsperson. Any costs associated with the preparation of new plans will be agreed in advance and charged separately.

Where an application requires additional work beyond the standard service — for example, due to:

• Complex operating schedules

• Sensitive locations

• Cumulative impact areas

• Extended consultations with Responsible Authorities

Additional fees may apply.

Licensing Sub-Committee Hearing Representation

From £600 

​

Where representations cannot be resolved and an application is referred to a Licensing Sub-Committee hearing, our professional hearing representation service is available.

​

Hearing-Only Representation

​

Where we are instructed solely to provide representation at a Licensing Sub-Committee hearing, and have not been involved in preparing or submitting the original Premises Licence application or variation, fees may be higher than our standard representation rates.

This reflects the additional work required to review the application, assess the issues raised, analyse representations, and prepare the case to a standard suitable for effective defence at a hearing.

Travel & Accommodation

​

Where attendance at hearings or meetings is required, travel will be undertaken by car or public transport and charged at the most cost-effective rate available.

Where overnight accommodation is necessary, reasonable accommodation costs will be charged at cost.

For travel exceeding 60 minutes from our offices in Surrey, additional fees may apply to reflect extended travel time. Any such costs will be discussed and agreed in advance.
