Premises Licence Variation Service
Premises Licence Minor Variation Service

A Minor Variation provides a quicker and more cost-effective way of making limited changes to an existing Premises Licence, where those changes will not have a material impact on the licensing objectives.

Our Minor Variation Service supports clients in making small, proportionate amendments to their Premises Licence. Where appropriate, this route offers a faster alternative to a full premises licence variation, with a statutory consultation period of 10 working days and a reduced application cost.

The Minor Variation process can only be used where the Licensing Authority and Responsible Authorities are satisfied that the proposed changes are low risk and suitable to be dealt with under this procedure.

Changes That May Be Suitable for a Minor Variation

Opportunities to use the Minor Variation process are limited, but may include:
-
Minor amendments to the approved premises layout or plans
-
Small changes or reductions to permitted licensable activity hours
-
Small changes or reductions to opening or operating hours
-
Removal, amendment, or updating of existing licence conditions
Each application is assessed on its individual merits and local policy considerations.

How We Can Help

Our comprehensive Minor Variation Service manages the process from start to finish, ensuring applications are prepared and submitted professionally and accurately, giving them the best possible prospect of acceptance.

Before any work begins, and prior to formal instruction, we undertake an initial assessment of the proposed changes. This allows us to provide honest advice on whether the Minor Variation route is appropriate and the likelihood of the application being accepted.
