Can authorised person's be stopped from entering a licensed premises?- In most situations, an "authorized person" such as a police officer, a local authority inspector, or someone representing a licensing authority has a legal right to enter licensed premises to inspect and ensure compliance with licensing laws and other regulations.

Typically, you cannot legally prevent an authorized person from entering a licensed premises while they are performing their duties. Doing so could result in fines, penalties, or even the suspension or revocation of the premises' license.

Authorized persons usually have the right to check for compliance with alcohol sales, food safety, or other operational aspects.

However, if someone claims to be an authorized person, but you are uncertain, it is appropriate to request identification or credentials to confirm their authority before allowing entry.

If an authorized person is acting outside the scope of their duties or violating proper procedures, you may have recourse to file a complaint after the fact but should still allow them entry.
